West End of Exchange Street
Description
This photo shows the west end of Exchange Street in downtown Brodhead, Wisconsin. At the left is the "Dorlyn Theater" owned by Stanley Swartz. It was named after his daughter. It was first on the north side of the square and later moved. When he sold it was renamed the "Sun Theater". It closed in 1954. Next to it was the old bowling alley, which was run for many years by Carl Synstegard. At the right is the old Post Office and old Fire Department. The movie titles were "Shut My Big Mouth" and "Sinister Journey".
