Title

Jaggi's Pure Gas Station

Description

"Pure" was a brand name for gasoline in the past. This Pure gas station was located on the curve on Seventeenth Street across from where TenEyck Road intersects Seventeenth Street in Brodhead, Wisconsin. Harold Jones built the service station in 1930. Stanley Jones and Robert Riese operated the station at different times. Harold Jones sold to Stanley Jones and Stanley sold to Aurther Jones and finally Aurther sold the station to Casper Jaggi in 1946. Adolph Jaggi leased the station starting in August of 1946. At that time there was only a gas station office building. Later a garage was added to the station office. In 1949 the Jaggi Drive-in was built and a fenced in park and picnic area was added. An addition was built on to the garage in 1949 and became the home of the Freeman Shoe plant until they moved to Beloit in 1953. In later years the garage part was used as a welding shop. The building no longer exists. The land is now owned by Kuhn North America and used to park new farm equipment.
