Texaco Gas Station

Description

The Texaco Gas Station was located at 1201 First Center Avenue in Brodhead, Wisconsin. The building was built for Harvey Jones by carpenters Peter and Eddie Burns and mason William Wall in 1924 - 1925. From 1930 - 1940 it was operated by Fred Stephens. Croy Brewer ran the business in 1941 and 1942. Carl Synstegard owned the station from 1942 - 1947. Arther Riemer and Charles Atkinson purchased the business in 1947 ant Art bought out Charles in 1953. Art ran the business into the 1970s. The building still stands. Gasoline is no longer sold but it is a auto repair garage. Steve Peterson ran an auto repair business here for many years. Notice at the right side of the picture Roderick Lumber Company. Trackside Mobil now sits at that location.
